The New Moon in Sagittarius is asking us to finally take aim for all we want... and after the wild ride of the last few months, it is actually going to be relatively quiet in comparison to what we have previously experienced.
Sag is about optimism and positivity, and for the majority this will come through
This New Moon generally is a nice vibe kind of a full moon. So that is absolutely brilliant news to look to see where this is going to directly impact you yourself if you have a look at your birth chart and if you have a look to see if you have anything at 20 degrees of any of the signs. That's what's kind of being highlighted for us all right now, but it just has this really good feel that makes me like this moon a lot… Even if we do have aspecting natal planets to it.
Mars Conjunct Sun and the Moon
The Sun, the Moon and Mars are all sat on top of each at this moon in Sagittarius, gossiping away. Mars is urging us to really make the changes that we need, so we can be our true, authentic selves – on the inside and out. The “Oh, what are we doing? How are we doing it? Why are we doing it?” is going to be especially present throughout the night of the 13th – So if you do wake up at in the early hours, thank Mars for your whirling brain… and then carrying on during the day, calling us to either take action or totally retreat, but we are likely to feel pumped – In a good way.
Mars is all about our ambitions and drive and he wants us to kick off something new. Something that is true to us and he is helping the cosmos show us exactly what that is!
There is a cautionary tale to this, with Jupiter, opposing Mars – Plus what other aspects you have in your own birth chart, what we feel is likely to be intensified, which could potentially boil over if others aren’t working at the same energy levels. But back to Jupiter and Mars… Jupiter is the planet of abundance. It blows everything up and makes everything much much larger.
Jupiter Opposing Mars
The fact that Jupiter is opposing Mars (the planet of action) at the full moon on the 12th of December intimates to me that we will either feel the BIG urge to get on and do something (most likely). Jupiter literally blows everything it touches so will likely feel this urge to just knuckle down and fly through your to-do list and get shit done. OR you are likely to just want to walk in the opposite direction and forget about it all. Regardless of which camp you are in, the urge to do one or the other will not be easy to shake.
At this moon we also have a square between Mercury (which is in Capricorn), Mars and Jupiter. Ordinarily a square is a challenging placement, but this one feels the opposite almost, it is in part because while I feel we will in the main want to crack on and not run away what needs to be done, as it helps tie in your to-do list, how you want to be talking about yourself and see how you really want to be moving forward.
This is a brilliant manifesting moon. It is going to show you what you want and allow you plant those seeds that you need to plant so you can make all your dreams come true The fact that mercury is literally going to be going retrograde within hours of the new moon, is brilliant for all of us aware of it so that we get can use this slowdown to think about the person we want to become and formulate a plan as to what we need to do.
Neptune & Pluto
But I'll come on to more of that in a minute, as we also have Neptune and Pluto aspecting each other. Pluto (the planet of death and rebirth) is at 28 degrees of Capricorn, it is really helping us tie up any loose ends, and let go of all that you need so that you can move into the new year ready to become the new you. As Pluto is moving across the cusp into Aquarius, it's making us look at what are we doing, what our purpose is, why we are doing things, and do we really want what we thought we wanted? Ultimately this is what the cosmos wants us to be clear on… what's the point of our actions? I feel like that's the takeaway.
The feeling of something “greater” is being highlighted into our conscious by the steady pull from Aquarius who wants us to work for the collective, so our questioning if there is more than just the 9-5 grind, and with Neptune in the mix, it’s helping us to really feel into this (but if we aren’t on our intuition game, things may not appear so rosy) and that's going to remain in place until the morning of the 17th, and with the help of Mercury Retrograde, it is really going to help us listen to our intuition to understand exactly what we need to be doing in our lives… if we give it the time by sitting still so we can listen to it.
Remember to set intentions at this Moon. You know you are on the verge of something… it is just the what that you need to get clear on, as the following day, on the 13th (or 12th depending where you are in the world), Mercury goes retrograde and will have us reassess a lot of things in our lives. So for many of you, you could well find yourself going really deep, really reassessing, rethinking, reevaluating while Mercury retrogrades in Capricorn until the end of the month.
Mercury Retrograde
Over the last two weeks of December, take time to rethinking things and replanting things, put things in order.
When planets retrograde, they want to us to look back and question what we want, what do we dream of, what has worked and what needs to change. Think ‘re’ words… Review, Re-evaluate, Revise, Remaster. And the fact that this is happening at the end of the calendasr year, and at a time where we may have the time to spare to get quiet and listen is beyond magic.
Mercury will begin to retrograde in Capricorn within a few hours of the New Moon - Either on the 12th or 13th dependent where you are in the world. It will likely bring news on the 12th and 13th that could feel a little chaotic as we re evalute what matters, so lean into the positivity of Sag to help offset this.
Sagittarius New Moon Journal Points
This is a moon for asking ourselves;
✨What really matters?
✨What do we need to consume?
✨What do we want to 'give'?
✨What have we been carrying that is overwhelming and burdening?
✨Where are we going to put our hearts and energy?
But what's what I love about cosmos at this time… it is all leading up to the New Moon in Capricorn next month. This New Moon in Sagittarius is asking us to know what we want so we can take aim with our bow and arrow so we can nail it in the future.
So set intentions, and plant those seeds as this is a really good time to do it. We won’t have all the answers at this moon, we just need to be clear on what we want. Knowing how to get there will come of the coming weeks, but let’s just state what we want so we know what we are going after.
The second half of December is very much about looking at where we are going and how we want to get there, with the help of Mercury Retrograde. And even if we don't know how we want to get there, what do we actually want to leave behind and it ties in really, really well with the whole Wheel of the Year as well. It's just a really beautiful ending to the year.
Enjoy!
